Programming helps him heal in 6 days, not 6 weeks!
By Dr. John M. La Tourrette, Ph.D.
It was Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998 - Valentine's day - when I fell and broke my back.
It all started out with 60-mph winds here in the backwoods of Oregon. These powerful winds partially uprooted a 57-foot tall tree in my back yard and broke off several large limbs. I knew if they fell, they'd crush my pump-house and take out the electric power lines going out to my barn.
So I got out my old six foot tall aluminum ladder, placed it below a limb that needed to be whacked off, climbed to the second rung from the top and proceeded to saw off damaged limbs.
I was sawing through my third limb when I felt the ladder being pulled out from under me. The right leg of the ladder had buckled because of metal fatigue. Right beneath where I was cutting was an oak log round that we used for a picnic table during the hot summers.
Well, I fell backwards right onto the cutting edge of that oak round, breaking the second lumbar vertebra and compressing all the other vertebra down to my coccyx.
Terrible pain
I've never before felt such searing and mind throbbing pain!
I'm a 54-year-old sports trainer and karate master (tenth degree black belt) who is in pretty good shape. I've had lots of pain inflicted upon my body in the last five decades. I've been knifed, beaten up, knocked out, torn out my knees, spit out broken teeth, and suffered concussions, but all those previous incidents were like a Sunday walk through the park compared to the pain generated by this massive contusion to my lower back.
So there I lay, huddled in fetal position, with red-hot pain roaring through my back so strong that my conscious mind seemed to be several feet away from that person moaning on the ground in agony.
In a situation like that, going to level just doesn't work. At least it didn't work for me in the manner I'd expected.
Even using the "gone" pain control technique was useless. So I asked my unconscious mind to give me a technique that would give me back my mental control.
Immediately there popped into my mind the thought, "Do the secret 'Ha' breath control method from Hawaii."
This breath control method consists of two simple steps:
*First, simply breath in through the nose for a count of four.
*Then breath out through the mouth, with a "Haaaaa" sound for a count of eight.
The secret behind the workability is the 1:2 ratio. Also, when exhaling, pretend, visualize, and imagine that the pain is going out with the escaping air.
After about four deep breaths (I was in no shape to accurately count them) and four loud exhalations, I could reasonably think clearly again. I wiggled my toes and moved my legs. They worked. Thank God I had not severed my spinal cord.
Starting self-help
I knew I had to get ice on the traumatized area instantly before swelling occurred to damage the tissues and spinal cord. That meant right away, in less than three minutes.
So my wife Lynn and my boy Jack helped cart me into the house, one person under each armpit. I must have been a bear to carry since I'm a big guy, six feet two inches tall and I weigh in at 218 pounds.
My daughter Jonnie brought me a bag of ice, which I sandwiched between my spine and the back of the chair, holding the ice to my spine with pressure.
My wife dialed 911 and the emergency medical technicians (EMT) (all four of them) were at my door in the space of about 12 minutes which seemed to me to be about 12 hours. Pain distorts time quite a bit.
These guys wanted to lay me down on a flat board and immobilize me totally. So I defocused my vision (as you learn in the UltraMind ESP System), in order to be at your center with your eyes open) and checked out my spine and asked my unconscious mind, "How should I be transported?"
Instantly an answer came back, "Place ice packs under the lumbar, coccyx region, and place pillows under your knees. That will keep the pressure off the small of your back."
Stabilized the body
So I told the EMTs specifically how I wanted to be transported. They looked at me like I was crazy, but because I had a Ph.D. after my name and it didn't violate their training, they strapped me to the board exactly in the manner I requested.
Have you ever been in a hospital's emergency room? It's not much fun and it's like the Army's "hurry up and wait" policy. You have to be there, but you can't get anything done right away.
They took my blood pressure and heart beat rate five times. They were shocked! During my six-hour stay, my blood pressure stayed at 110 over 72. The first time they took it, they took it three times to make sure they didn't calibrate wrong.
I continued my "ha" breath control method until they shot me in the butt with 100 mg's of Demerol. It's really strange but the Demerol didn't seem to do much more for me than the breath control combined with ice packs.
Anyway, physical examinations, x-rays and CAT scans were procedures that had to be gone through. And, I had to talk to all those medical technicians, and nurses doing their procedures.
Cancel-Cancel
I used a special exercise Jose Silva taught me where you hear a "neggie," then say Cancel-Cancel, and replace the negative thought with what you want instead.
I highly recommend that if you are ever going to get a medical procedure, get this positive thinking technique hard-wired into your brain first.
Let me share with you some of the "Stuff" (a technical term) I heard aimed in my direction by well-meaning health professionals that just didn't know any better.
1. "Some people never walk again."
2. "Some people are never the same again."
3. "I hope you didn't sever your spinal cord."
4. "You think it hurts now? Just wait! The third day is always the worst!"
5. "You'll be in the hospital three days at least."
And this negative hypnotic programming went on and on, no matter where I turned.
I even started getting paranoid. I had a sneaking suspicion that the hospital staff was made to take mandatory classes on how-to-make clients feel worse, get sicker and heal much slower." At least most of their language patterns fit that description.
Bad news
Anyway, my orthopedic surgeon came in and gave me the cold, hard facts. I had fractured L2 (lumbar 2) and had pieces of vertebra floating around in my back somewhere. And, if I stayed off my feet and didn't move around, I would probably be healed enough in six weeks to eight weeks to go back to work.
The Doc then told me the pain would get much worse, so he prescribed a narcotic, hydrocodone, for me. I was supposed to take two of those narcotics every six hours, or as needed for pain. (I never needed any of them so they are still sitting on the top shelf in my medicine cabinet.)
I told him, "Fine. So I can go home now, right?" I'd been at that hospital from 3 in the afternoon until 9 that night. I was glad to get rid of them, and away from all those "trying to be helpful" people who were incorrectly brain-washing me into a direction I didn't want to go, and I did not need to go.
Special prescriptions
Sitting in the car on the drive home I went to level. I had much too much to do to be bed-ridden for six to eight weeks.
So I went to level. I told my unconscious mind what I wanted, then I asked how I could achieve it.
I quieted my mind and waited for an answer. The answer came back very logical, precise and with eight specific steps.
1. Don't rest in a bed. Lying flat will take longer to heal. Instead rest and sleep in your reclining "easy" chair for at least a week.
2. Take 12,000 mg of vitamin C each day. Take it in four separate doses of 3,000 mg each, starting when you wake up, and finishing when you retire at night.
3. Take L-Arginine and L-Ornithine (combined 10,000 units) on an empty stomach to reactivate your pituitary gland so it Secretes growth hormone at the level of a 20 year old man. Take this amount twice a day, once at night when retiring, then again in the morning upon awakening.
4. Take ten tablets a day of glucosamine and chondroitin for cartilage and joint repair. Five tablets twice a day with food.
5. Take 600 mgs of ibuprofen three times a day, starting out by loading the stomach with a banana, then take the ibuprofen. The banana has natural tryptophen in it and will relax you and release growth hormone as you heal
6. Use an ice pack, 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off until pain disappears. If the lumbar site even starts to tingle or heat up from inflammation, stick another ice pack on it.
7. Twice a day, relax and go to level and picture your back healing, then picture it healed and you're working out with a good back.
8. Follow this "action formula" daily and in one week you can be training others again.
Amazing results
Yesterday, six days after my fall, I walked into the doctor's office for my post-injury check tip.
After talking to me and examining me he became very confused.
He finally reached into a large brown envelope, pulled out all the x-rays taken from the Saturday before and examined them once again.
Shaking his head in disbelief he told me I was really moving good for someone who'd been through trauma just a few days before.
I told him he hadn't seen anything yet. I stood up and demonstrated a few karate moves for him.
He watched in total amazement. "Doesn't it hurt to move?" he asked.
"No" I told him. "I have an agreement with my unconscious mind that if I do anything that might threaten 'our' quick healing and recovery, that it would give me 'mild' discomfort as a signal to slow down, instead of pain." I had also agreed with my unconscious mind not to do any kicks, sparring, or sit-ups until it gave me the go-ahead. (it still has not given me permission to do those physical activities.)
The Doc just shook his head, then stated, "I wish I had more patients like you." He then gave me permission to train my athletes, to practice karate, and to drive my car.
Use it or lose it
Yesterday, Saturday morning, I trained six athletes for a period of three hours, and I'm still moving good. And, it was all accomplished in six days, instead of six weeks to eight weeks.
I want to thank Jose Silva for putting together the specific tool (a step-by-step procedure that you learn in Jose Silva's UltraMind ESP System) that allowed me to think clearly and focus inwardly during a time of tremendous pain and stress.
I also want to thank him for sharing accelerated healing techniques with me and with the rest of the world.
Unfortunately, as a Silva UltraMind Instructor, I know that only a small percentage of the Silva graduates continue to use or practice their new-found skills 90 days after completion of the course. And that's a shame.
There are two types of people in this world:
*Those people who are at cause.
*Those people who are at effect.
Those who are at cause are the people who make the world turn.
Those who are at effect whine and blame the world for everything bad that happens to them.
The Silva System, when applied properly, puts you at cause in your world, which in turn, makes the world a better place to live in for everyone else.
By the way, I went to my center and asked my unconscious mind why I had caused such an accident to happen to me.
The answer startled me. It stated, "You were getting fat, lazy and complacent. I had to get you out of your rut somehow. You've got things to do and you can't do them while basking in the 'comfort zone' with past achievements."
Thanks Jose for teaching me these exquisite tools for personal development in the physical, mental and spiritual realms. I wish more people would use them. The world would be a much better place.
