     How do we do this? Here's how:
     In the Long Relaxation Exercise, when the instructor says to project - or concentrate -your sense of awareness on your scalp area, that's where you start practicing your concentration. What are you going to do with these instructions? How are you going to carry these instructions out? You start concentrating...how are you going to do it?
     I've got to project my awareness to my scalp area...what's my awareness?
     Establish what your awareness is. It is not a jet, it is not a book. Let's say...it's a ray of light. Blue-white light...the purest light there is, the purest energy there is.
     Assume that it is. It is easier for us to focus a ray of light into that area than anything else, so why not establish that your awareness is a ray of light.
     That's where you concentrate on how you're going to carry out the instructions.
     Next you are instructed to detect the vibrations in that area, the feeling of warmth caused by circulation...of course it is the blood circulation we are talking about.
     If you don't concentrate on trying to feel the pulsations of those vibrations in that area, you'll never feel them. It doesn't mean you are going to feel them on the first effort, no. But by the second or third effort, you will start feeling them.
     But you must take time, allow time for it. That's where your concentration comes in.
     Now you know that this feeling is caused by the blood circulation, so why don't you exaggerate your imagination. That's where your imagination comes in. Imagine that there is a strong beam of light into that area, into a big chamber where there is blood circulating there, nice pure blood. Exaggerate that. Imagine it irrigating all the roots of your hair, things like that. Here's where you practice your imagination.
     Then you are instructed to release and completely relax all tensions and ligament pressures from this part of your body. Don't just recite it; concentrate on it, exaggerate your imagination again.
     How would you imagine your scalp being fully relaxed. Think. Concentrate. Maybe you would feel better imagining your scalp as if it were dropped all over, like...melting all over. Whatever it is, try that. Maybe it would feel like a warm, wet cloth over your head. Whatever it is, help your body. This is where you use your imagination. And this is where you start incorporating your physiological relaxation with your mind, with your mental relaxation. This is very important.
     What's going to happen when you do that?
     You will be much more relaxed at the end of that exercise than if you hadn't done that work. You will acquire a much deeper level of conscious awareness, to its fullest extent, because you've been busy.
     You will have also learned how to handle your imagination a lot better than you did before. You'll have learned how to concentrate better.
     It means also that you are going to acquire a deeper level, sooner, with conscious awareness. You are going to relax your tissues much faster, with conscious awareness. Remember that your brain is composed of tissues also, and your brain controls everything. It controls your motor system, your nervous system, your sensory system, your memory system...everything.
     It's you...your brain. And it is a lower frequency, brain level, with conscious awareness, that will accept or reject your programming. It will accept or reject, because it still has a consciousness, a consciousness that still doesn't cease to be a censorship department. It may err at lot, but it is still a censorship department.
