Q: I've been meaning to ask for sometime, what are the Silva thoughts on Tarot cards? I know Mr. Silva touches on them in the Ultimate Seminar, but I haven't found anything in any of the books I've got.
A: This is another way of using your psychic ability.
Tarot cards, pendulums, crystal balls, channelling, dowsing rods, and so forth, are all ways of focusing the mind so that you can use your intuition.
Dr. J.W. Hahn, former director of Mind Science Foundation and long time research associate of Jose Silva, called it an ideamotor response - idea-motor (pronounced idio-motor):
Your mind detects the information, impresses it on the alpha portion of the brain, which in turn causes a minute motor response in the body and moves the pendulum, the dowsing rods, or causes a slight change in the shuffle of the tarot cards perhaps.
In addition to a direct motor nerve response, the device used (crystal ball, tarot cards) gives us an opportunity to interpret - to interpret the cards or tea leaves or the subject's palm - and to sense, through visualization, imagination, feeling, auditory input (clairaudience), or whatever means you use to detect clairvoyant information.
Automatic writing is the same thing: The psychic detects the information clairvoyantly, and translate it to a physical form at a "sub-conscious" level.
